Volzhsky Folk Choir (full name: State Academic Volga Folk Choir named after P. M. Miloslavov) was created by the decision of the Government of the RSFSR in February 1952 in Samara (then in Kuibyshev). The first artistic director and founder was Pyotr Mikhailovich Miloslavov. The choir's work was based on the folk culture of the Volga region.
